Generally,UPS power supply testing include a steady-state test and dynamic test two kinds. The following will introduce the testing methods of UPS power supply. 

 

1. Wave form

Generally in no-load and full load condition, we observe whether weather the waveform is normal,we use waveform distortion degree measuring instrument to measure the output voltage waveform distortion degree. In normal working condition, connect the resistance loading, measuring the output voltage total harmonic relative content with the distortion degree of measuring instrument, should conform to the requirements of the product,and usually less than 5%.

2. Steady-state test

The so-called steady-state test is a testing that the equipment go into the "system normal" state, general it can measure the waveform, frequency and voltage. Frequency general use oscilloscope to observe the output voltage frequency and use "power disturbances analyzer" to measure. At present the output voltage frequency of UPS can usually meet the requirements. But when UPS power frequency circuit, the oscillator is not accurate,it likely also in line frequency unstable, UPS output voltage frequency also make changes. The precision of UPS output frequency in commonly parallels the utility the, can achieve plus or minus 0.2%.

3. Effciency

By measuring the output power and input powe of UPS can obtain the efficiency of UPS. The efficiency of the UPS is mainly dependent on the design of the inverter. Most UPS load has a higher efficiency  only in 50% 100%, when it's lower than 50% load, its efficiency is sharply down,the manufacturers provided the efficiency index also is efficiency rated in AC voltage, rated load conditions.The best choice is the relation curve of efficiency and output power and AC voltage changes the positive and negative 15% efficiency when the users choose the model.

4. Output Voltage

By the following method to judge the UPS output voltage:

A. When the input voltage is 90% of the rated voltage, and output load is 100% or the input voltage is 110% of the rated voltage, the output load is 0, the output voltage should be held in ratings plus or minus 3% range.

B. When the input voltage is 90% or 110% of the rated voltage, the output voltage is no-load, another two phase is 100% load, the output voltage should be kept in the ratings of plus or minus 3%, within the scope of the phase difference should be held in 4 degrees range.
