The LED power supply and drive circuit are too vulnerable by the damage of  electrical shock and short-circuit, so in the drive circuit design the protective measures of each kind of state will be taken into account so that to improve the circuit’s reliability, thereby to reduce the repair rate. PTC can help AC power to achieve over-current and short circuit protection, and MOV will be existed for over electric shock and surge protection. PTC + TVS series can reach for the integrated over-voltage and over-current protection at the input port of DC power, the surface mount fuse of LED light series can achieve load overcurrent or circuit fault protection.

Driver input provides a simple and traditional clamp diode which can also provide reverse bias protection and over-current protection against transients.
